World Medical Conference : AVIAN INFLUENZA: AND HOMEOPATHY? |
There are changes taking place in the international homeopathic medical community. The first WORLD MEDICAL CONFERENCE on the theme 'Homeopathy and Avian Influenza' took place in Paris on Saturday 19 November 2005.
This day was organised under the aegis of 5 international homeopathic medical associations the IFCH (International Foundation for Clinical Homeopathy), the RLHH (Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital), the ECH (European Council for Homeopathy), the AIH (American Institute of Homeopathy) and the IIHP (Indian Institut of Homoeopathic Physicians).
143 doctors representing over 25 nationalities were there, all with the same goal: to think about and put into practice all possible methods of care and assessment of homeopathy in terms of prevention and cure for Avian influenza. Several works will come out of these worthwhile discussions.

Government of India launches Homeopathy Campaign |
|
 India kick-started a sustained homeopathy campaign to make people aware of the usefulness of homeopathy for diseases relating to mother and child.
Inaugurating a National Workshop on Homeopathy for Mother and Child Care, Minister for State for Health and Family Welfare Panabaka Lakshmi said, "this is the beginning of a long and sustained campaign proposed by the Ministry to generate awareness about the usefulness of homeopathy for mother and child care".
Homeopathy has a definite role to play in Indian health system not only because its medicines are simple to administer, but also because homeopathy is effective, safe and affordable, she said.

A study published in Diabetes Care analysed data on 13,475 pregnant women including 860 who developed gestational diabetes. Women drinking the most sugar-sweetened colas before becoming pregnant were 22 per cent more likely to develop gestational diabetes than women who drank the fewest sugar-sweetened colas.
